PENTAX INTRODUCES MARINE BINOCULAR MODEL

GOLDEN, Colorado (December 15, 2008)…PENTAX Imaging Company has announced the PENTAX Marine 7x50 binocular with a built-in compass.   A perfect companion for use on or around water, this binocular is an appealing model for boaters, sailors, fishing enthusiasts and more.  The PENTAX Marine model features a built-in compass with an easy-to-read scale on a liquid bearing for quick dampening and quick, accurate readings.  This built-in compass is enhanced by an LED Compass Illuminator for low-light or night use.   Featuring the ideal magnification and objective lens diameter of 7x50, this marine binocular features a ranging reticle that determines distance from an object or object size from a distance.

The new PENTAX Marine binocular offers the high quality construction found in all PENTAX binoculars including nitrogen-filled, waterproof construction that thrives in the most extreme weather conditions.  Phase-coated and super-reflective coated BaK-4 roof prisms provide high resolution, high contrast images and the fully multi-coated lenses maximize light transmission and color quality.  An external lens coating prevents the elements from obscuring the view and a rubber covered exterior provides a sure grip that protects the internal mechanisms from damage.  Helicoid eyepiece rings provide the most comfortable eye relief and the inner-focus optical design adds to the durability. The binoculars also offer long eye-relief for viewing with or without glasses and the click-stop adjustment locks in the right eyepiece diopter.

PENTAX Imaging Company will preview this new model from January 15-18 in Orlando, Florida at the 2009 SHOT SHOW®, the world’s premier exposition of firearms, ammunition, archery, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics, camping and related products and services.

The PENTAX 7x50 Marine binocular with built-in compass will ship in February 2009 for US $199.00, and this model is covered by the PENTAX Worry-Free Warranty.
