These instructions will guide you through the process of downloading and installing the USB drivers for your camera on a Windows 98 or Windows 98SE computer. Please note that other supported operating systems such as Windows XP, ME, 2000, and MacOS do not need these drivers, because they will automatically sense the connection of your camera and load their own built-in mass storage drivers.
The download file usbsw24.exe is a self-extracting archive file which contains the drivers, and you can download the usbsw24.exe file by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. You may also wish to print this page to use as a reference while installing your drivers.

- Turn your camera on (you can be in any mode).
- Your computer will automatically detect the camera as new hardware, and start a New Hardware Wizard to help you find the needed drivers.

Click NEXT to begin.
- Place the selection dot by the Wizard\'s recommended option if it is not already there.

USB Drivers for Windows 98
This page will instruct you in the download and installation of your Windows 98 USB driver software for the PENTAX EI-200 Digital Still Camera. Please note, these drivers are also available on the CD-ROM originally packaged with your EI-200. However, we invite you to download and use the drivers on this page if you are no longer in possession of your original CD-ROM.
>> DOWNLOAD NOW
Please note, users of MacOS computers (version 8.6 or later), Windows ME, and Windows 2000 (all versions) do not require USB drivers to be provided separately. Rather, these operating systems will automatically recognize the PENTAX EI-200 and install the appropriate drivers from their own driver databases.
The Windows 98 USB drivers are provided in a single ZIP file, and must be expanded to your hard drive prior to installing them on your computer. You will need to utilize a ZIP compression utility program/expander for this purpose. When you expand the ZIP file, please do so to a temporary directory such as the following:
c:TEMP
Once the files are expanded to this directory, they are ready for installation.
Installation Instructions:
To install your Windows 98 USB driver software for your EI-200 digital camera, you need to attach the camera to your computer with the supplied USB cable (you can do this when the computer is on).
Turn the function dial to PC and then turn the camera on.
If this is the first time you are attaching the camera to your computer, Windows 98 should then automatically detect the camera as a new device, and ask you to install the appropriate drivers for it.
A wizard will appear that will search for the drivers for your new PENTAX EI-200 device. Click NEXT.
Click the radio button that says SEARCH FOR THE BEST DRIVER FOR YOUR DEVICE (RECOMMENDED). Now, click NEXT.
Place a checkmark by SPECIFY A LOCATION and type C:TEMP in the location field. This will tell Windows 98 to look for the drivers in the directory to which you expanded your zip file (see above). Click NEXT.
Now Windows 98 will find your EI-200 USB driver and ask you to confirm. Click NEXT.
Windows 98 will then perform the installation of the driver, and notify you when the installation is complete. Click FINISH.
That\'s all there is to it. Now, you should be able to see your digital camera as a new disk drive under My Computer.
